"Shooting Kabul." The title would have you thinking it's a war story, a story about terrorism and heartbreak. And while it is all of those things, it's also a children's book, a story about starting fresh with a hole in your heart, and in your family. Above all, "Shooting Kabul" is a story about a kid with a camera and a taste for peanut butter.

Critical Self-Definition is the most significant challenge facing American Muslim communities today. This challenge is the product of an all too popular conversation on "Muslim pathologies" i.e. a "culture of terrorism" created by institutions and individuals who benefit materially from demonizing Muslims. Unfortunately, under the pressure of this pervasive discourse many American Muslims have let this external narrative determine how they see themselves and what their communities' priorities should be.

The No Fly List controversy takes off once again with a lawsuit filed by Rahinah Ibrahim who was arrested upon her arrival in San Francisco at a United Airlines ticket counter five years ago. It turned out to be a case of false positive but Ms. Ibrahim who was a Stanford doctoral student, decided to sue.
